The Birthday paintings began during the first year of the pandemic. I started painting them as a way to acknowledge others during the most severely lonely and confusing time. We’re still living through this and it’s still lonely if you still care.
I think I’ll continue the series. Birthdays are a way to acknowledge a someone’s existence. You’re still here.
